The MIraGE Trainings for Employers in Romania started on 30th of March 2021!
Employers from Iasi, Romania learn how to successfully recruit refugees and third-country nationals
On 30th of March 2021, Novapolis Association held in Iasi, Romania, the first training for employers that were interested to hire TCNs with a legal stay in Romania.
Romania is known of being more an emigration country and Romanian employers increasingly facing difficulties to find Romanian workers that are willing to accept the jobs or are all the qualifications required. Moreover, Iasi county, located in Eastern Romania is one of the most affected region of the emigration phenomenon and this has a negative impact on the local labour market.
In this context, the training that took place in Iasi with the support of AIDROM gathered local authorities, employers and HR consultants from various sectors from Iasi county, such as: agriculture, HoReCa industry, tourism industry, research organisations and other local companies who expressed their interest in recruiting foreign workforce.
The event was interactive and the participants debated with experts and the trainer about the most important Romanian legislative aspects regarding the employment of foreigners, about the cultural differences and the benefits that these differences can bring it. They also discussed about the local labour market characteristics and how immigration can be a viable solution, for example in the case of Pakistanis workers that could easily fill in the jobs in transport as their driver license is very easy to be recognised in Romania.
Moreover, the employers from Iasi County learned more about the recruiting process from the perspective of a company with experience in recruiting foreign citizens, who offered many advices and highlighted the most salient TCN’s workplace integration needs.
Within the training, all the participants had the opportunity to find out many relevant information regarding the recruiting process and employment of TCNs in Romania and they have received many advices related to the integration process or diversity and work environment.
