Find out the story of Youssef El Dib that chose Romania to start a new life and settle a family

Youssef had a few business ideas to start in Romania and after the MIraGE training he is trying to access the Romania start-up programs

Youssef El Dib is from Jounieh, Lebanon. He studied Finances and Business Administration there and after he finished his studies he went to Africa in 2007, where he worked for about 13 years. He started as an accountant for a company and then he was promoted on different levels, from financial manager and administrator to general manager for one of the hotels owned by the company, named Riviera Hotel.

At the Riviera Hotel, in 2010, he met his wife, a Romanian young woman that was working there too. In 2020 they chose to move to Romania and to start a new life and settle a family.

While working within a company from Brasov, where he was employed within client support department, Youssef had a few business ideas to start in Romania. His family from Lebanon, respectively his big brother has a transportation company named Dib&Dib Trans Car. So he tried to open in Romania the same business as his brother in 2020, but the pandemic stopped his plans.

Moreover, he had some challenges as he did not knew how to register in Romania the name of the company. Youssef tried also to access some loans from the Romanian banks but his request was rejected by the banks and Youssef discovered that to be able to access these loans, he needed to have an active company account and a business running for more than 3 months.

The MiraGE training session helped him to find the right information on how to register the name of the company Dib&Dib Trans Car, owned by his brother abroad and also he was glad to hear about the founding sources and now he is waiting for these programs to launch the calls for new start-ups.

Currently, Youssef lives in Brasov with his wife and he started a new job, as a purchasing manager for the company Veo Worldwide Services from Brasov. In the near future also he plans to open a fast food truck with oriental fast food.
