The Romania last training for employers interested in recruiting and hiring foreign citizens held in Brasov, on 5th of July 2021, with the support of the Integration Center for Migrants Brasov and Brasov Chamber of Commerce and Industry that hosted the event.

The event gathered key actors of the local and regional labour market in particular recruitment agencies, employment agencies, local authorities, small and medium enterprises and employers from different sectors, such as HoReCa industry, construction, textile, public alimentation and tourism.

The participants underlined that it is very important for the local communities and for the local companies to recognise the diversity and the contribution of migrants and moreover to appreciate the intrinsic potential residing in it, and endeavouring to utilise it profitably for the local businesses and communities.

The employers from Brasov have learned how to develop new approaches in order to facilitate the recruitment and workplace integration of new foreign employees into companies, ensuring the intercultural and diversity-sensitive, anti-discriminatory and corporate approach.

Numerous corporate measures for workplace integration focus on life outside work, within the training, all the stakeholders had been advised by experts and trainers, that when it comes of recruiting foreigners, first and foremost, is very important to develop a strategy and a plan with measures. The employers also had been advised not to direct measures only at foreign employees, but to involve all stakeholders in the company and the company’s environment. These include, for example, the board, the current employees, the foreign employees, regional authorities and the neighbours.
