Jun 24, 2021

The MIraGE training sessions for Third-Country Nationals (TCNs) on labour integration and employability have been successfully completed in Sweden!

SwIdeas AB in Sweden has successfully conducted 4 training modules targeting third country nationals (TCNs) living in Sweden. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole training has been conducted remotely, gathering 318 people from 59 different countries throughout all modules. 87% of the participants were living in Sweden and actively looking for a job.

The goal of the training modules was to address the needs of TCNs within the Swedish labour market and to build their capacity by using the national legal framework for TCN labour integration.

During the sessions, the trainers shared useful and important information related to taxation, governmental agencies and other general aspects of the process of finding a job being an immigrant in Sweden. Information related to important aspects such as the A-Kassa (Swedish labor Unions) and employment contract and rights have also been covered. The trainers further gave tips and information on how to set up a business in Sweden, funding opportunities, types of businesses and taxation, and information on how to make a Canva Business Plan. Finally, an important aspect of the training was the topic of the intercultural aspects of the Swedish labour market, which play a crucial role in the journey towards finding a job in Sweden. Related to this, the trainers discussed cultural aspects that are particular to the Swedish society and that sometimes reflect in different attitudes and practices within the country’s labour market.
