The MIraGE Trainings for employers arrived at Constanta, Romania!

Employers from Constanta expressed their interest of recruiting and hiring TCNs

On 3rd of June 2021 the employers from Constanta County, interested in recruiting and hiring foreign citizens participated at the MIraGE training. The event also benefited of the presence of the local public authorities and NGOs. The training session helped the employers to get a comprehensive overview of the regulatory framework of the recruiting and integrating process of the foreign citizens at the workplace.

At Constanta the presentations and discussions focused on the legislative framework and the administrative procedures regarding the recruitment and the employment of TCNs, the role and the collaboration with the local authorities, good practices identified in Romania regarding the inclusion of the foreign workers at the workplace.

The employers from Constanta underlined the need of recruiting foreign citizens, especially in the deficient sectors, such as: construction, tourism and HoReCa industry, and had appreciated the discussions within the event, where they had the opportunity to find out new relevant and current information and also to get useful advices. The trainers spoke about the specifics in communicating with refugees in the hiring process, this being beneficial for both parties, and provided a number of practical tips for employers and organizations who would like to enrich their teams with new people, from new cultures and with diverse skills. Also, the trainers highlighted the importance of providing support in everyday life in order to facilitate the integration process.

This support may cover a wide range of issues, from having the new employee’s driving licence recognised, having their car registered, having them registered for TV and radio broadcast fees or selecting power, telephone and internet providers, helping them to find accommodation, open a bank account, get enrolled in social security and healthcare insurance, apply for children’s benefits, organise childcare and send the children to school or organise public transport tickets and, quite simply, providing information on medical care and pointing out cultural opportunities and options to spend leisure time.
